Environmental policy

Our business was conceived and is run with a strong ethos of environmental awareness. We strive to minimise the negative environmental impact of all our business activities. The driftwood that we supply is sourced, under license, from the shore of a limited number of remote and inaccessible Scottish lochs.

Lochside

Acid water conditions, the hardness of the semi-fossilised wood and the perpetual wetting and drying prevent the wood being used as a habitat by insects or plants. The driftwood erodes very slowly only by the action of the elements. Removal of this driftwood therefore has minimal impact on the natural environment. When installed in your garden, untreated driftwood garden sculptures create a microhabitat for insects thereby increasing biodiversity.
